Trauma Surgery NP/PA Needed in Oakland, CA
Start Date: August 2026 or as soon as credentialed
Contract Length: 6 months ongoing
Schedule: 3x12s preferred, may consider 5x8s
• Minimum 4 weekend shifts per month required
• Mostly day shifts with some nights required
• No call
Practice Details:
• Full-time coverage at the busiest trauma center in the Bay Area
• APPs care for trauma patients across the ED, floor, ICU, and clinic settings
• Will work with critically ill and injured trauma patients throughout the continuum of care
• Average inpatient census: 20–25 patients shared with residents
• Clinic averages approximately 20 patients/day
• Exposure to trauma activations and high-acuity patient care
• Epic EMR
• Adult and adolescent patient population
Requirements:
• Active CA license required at time of submission
• CA DEA required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Must be willing to obtain ATLS within 1 year of start date
• Minimum 1 year of trauma experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
• ICU experience highly preferred
• Experience with arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes strongly preferred
• Will consider candidates with Neurosurgery, ICU, ED, or Orthopedic experience
Additional Details:
• No OR or first assist responsibilities
• Experience managing shock, ACS, stroke, and complex trauma patients preferred
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 60–90 days
