Trauma NP/PA Needed in Oakland, CA
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Employment: W2 Locums
Schedule: Full-time
3x12-hour shifts (5x8s may be considered)
Mostly day shifts with some nights required
Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per month
No call
Practice Details
Level I Trauma Center
Acute Care Hospital
Epic EMR
Full-time trauma coverage
Manage patients from the ED through the ICU and inpatient floor
Approximately 20–25 patients/day (shared with residents)
Participate in trauma activations
Patient population ages approximately 15–101
Fast-paced, high-acuity trauma service
Not an OR or Surgical First Assist role
Skills & Experience
Minimum 1 year of trauma experience
Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred
ICU experience highly preferred
ED experience welcomed
Neurosurgery experience welcomed
Orthopedic experience welcomed
Experience managing:
Shock
Acute Care Surgery (ACS)
Stroke patients
Strongly preferred experience with:
Arterial lines
Central lines
Chest tubes
Requirements
Active California PA license in hand at submission
California DEA
BLS
ACLS
ATLS preferred (must obtain within one year if hired)
Credentialing: 60–90 days
