Trauma Surgery – Florida

Coverage Need:
• November 6–24, 2026
• Ongoing sporadic coverage opportunities available thereafter

Highlights:
• Level II Trauma Center with approximately 2,200 trauma cases annually
• Collaborative practice model with APP support and dedicated physician coverage across trauma, acute care surgery, and ICU services
• Temporary privileges may be available for providers with a clean file and availability

Practice Details:
• Hospital-based setting
• Adult patient population
• Three physician coverage model with dedicated assignments in Trauma Bay/OR, Acute Care Surgery/OR, and ICU
• APP support available in each service area
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities:
• Trauma resuscitation and stabilization
• Acute care surgery coverage
• Exploratory laparotomies
• Emergency thoracotomies
• Chest wall stabilization
• Damage control surgery
• Vascular repair
• Management of severe soft tissue injuries and traumatic fractures in collaboration with specialty teams
• All trauma cases excluding Neurosurgery

Requirements:
• Board Certified in Trauma Surgery or relevant surgical specialty
• Active Florida medical license required
• ACLS and ATLS required
• DEA required
• Minimum 1 year of Trauma Surgery experience

Credentialing: Approximately 90 days, with potential temporary privileges available for qualified candidates.
