Trauma Surgeon Needed in Melbourne, Florida

• Schedule Details: Initial need is for November 6-24 with sporadic ongoing needs when perm doc takes off

Work Details:
• Facility Type: Level II Trauma
• Practice Setting: hospital. There are 3 areas where the locum would work depending on the schedule. This location blends the acute care trauma is blended with all Trauma 1) Trauma Bay/OR 2) Acute Care/OR 3) ICU. There are 3 doctors on. 1 covering each of these areas with APP support in all areas.
• EMR/Charting Software: Epic
• Avg. 2,200 trauma cases per year
• Patient Age Group: adult
• Procedures: All Trauma cases except for Neurosurgery. Level 2 Trauma unit. They need to resuscitate/stablize and call specialized surgeons (Cardiac, etc) Other common cases: exploratory laparotomies, emergency thoracotomies, chest wall stabilization, damage control surgery, vascular repair, orthopedic procedures for bone fractures, and management of severe soft tissue injuries, often in collaboration with other specialists like neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons depending on the specific injury site. Acute care surgery experience.

• Board Certifications Req’d
• State License(s): FL
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS
• DEA Req’d?: yes
• Years of Experience Req’d: 1

Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days or faster. Temps are allowed if clean file and depends on their availability.
