California Urology Locums - 24-Hour Beeper Call | 5+ Days/Month

Aya Locums is recruiting Urologists for ongoing 24-hour beeper-call coverage in California beginning February 2027.

If you prefer concentrated call coverage without taking on a full clinic schedule, this may be worth a conversation.

The facility anticipates approximately 10-12 call shifts needing coverage each month and is looking for Urologists who can commit to at least 5 days per month. Multiple positions are available, creating some flexibility in how the monthly coverage is divided.

This is primarily a consult-based inpatient role. Hospitalist services handle admissions, and Urology is brought in as needed. Typical volume is approximately 1-6 consults per day.

The clinical work centers on the acute Urology issues you would expect to see while covering hospital call, including:
- Febrile stones and ureteral stent placement
- Hydronephrosis and acute kidney injury
- Gross hematuria and clot evacuation
- Testicular torsion
- Abscesses
- Other urgent general Urology consults

You will also have support from Hospitalist services and Urologists working at neighboring or affiliated hospitals.

This is adult-only coverage using Epic.

The client is looking for Urologists with previous 24-hour call experience who can step comfortably into a bread-and-butter acute Urology setting.

Requirements include:
- BC/BE Urology
- Active California medical license
- California DEA with Schedule II
- California fluoroscopy certificate
- Minimum 2 years of experience

Credentialing is estimated at 90-120 days, with clean files potentially eligible for expedited privileges.
