Urology Physician—24-Hour Beeper Call in California’s East Bay

Position Overview
An adult-only hospital service in California’s East Bay is seeking Urology coverage for approximately 10–12 24-hour beeper call shifts per month. Physicians must be available for at least 5 days of coverage each month.

This is a consult-based assignment supported by hospitalist services and neighboring Urologists. Patients are admitted to the hospitalist service first, with Urology consulted as needed.

• Compensation: $2,400–$2,600/Day Guaranteed: Additional hourly pay for callbacks—NO gratis hours

Location
Alameda and San Leandro area, California
The East Bay offers easy access to Oakland, San Francisco, Bay Area dining, entertainment, professional sports, and outdoor recreation.

Schedule & Work Environment
• 24-hour beeper call
• Approximately 10–12 shifts needing coverage each month
• Minimum commitment of 5 days per month
• Approximately 1–6 consults per hospital per day
• Adult patients only
• Epic EMR
• Hospitalist services available
• Support from neighboring and sister-hospital Urologists

Common consults include:
• Febrile stones
• Hydronephrosis and AKI
• Gross hematuria
• Ureteral stent placement
• Testicular torsion
• Clot evacuation
• ED consultations and outpatient follow-up recommendations

The physician must document consults and communicate directly with the ED and hospitalist teams when appropriate.

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
• ABU or AOBS eligibility accepted
• Active California medical license
• California DEA with Schedule II authority
• California Fluoroscopy Certificate
• At least 2 years of experience
• Prior experience taking 24-hour Urology call
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
