Shift Details: 24-hour coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM, in a 7-on/7-off model. Scheduled clinical hours plus call. Both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities; rounding required.
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off; approximately 14 coverage days per month.
Call requirements: Beeper call with a 20-minute response time. Call ratio: 1. Approximately 5 phone consultations per 24-hour call. Locum call includes both inpatient and outpatient coverage.
Work Details:
- Support staff: 1 RN, 1 MA, 2 office staff, and 0 PA/NPs
- Amount of coverage needed per month: 7-on/7-off schedule; approximately 14 days per month
- Patients per day: Approximately 10 patients per shift
- Patient population/age: Adult patients; pediatric urology is preferred
- Department description: Trauma center hospital requiring 24-hour urology coverage. Admissions are required.

- Hospital bed size: 99 beds listed for the department; total hospital bed size not provided
- Special procedures: Advanced endoscopic techniques, laparoscopic surgery, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, ureteroscopy, radical cystectomy with ileal loop conduit, radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, pelvic node dissection, partial nephrectomy with intraoperative ultrasound, adrenalectomy, renal/bladder ultrasound with biopsy, and TRUS biopsies
- Skills required: General urology, adult urology, advanced endoscopic techniques, laparoscopic surgeries, PCNL, ureteroscopy, radical cystectomy, radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, pelvic node dissection, partial nephrectomy/intraoperative ultrasound, adrenalectomy, renal/bladder ultrasound with biopsy, and TRUS biopsies
