Minnesota Urology Locums - 12/24-12/28 + Future Dates

Job description

Aya Locums is recruiting a Urologist for hospital-based coverage in Minnesota from December 24 through December 28, 2026, with additional future dates expected.

The initial coverage block begins at 6:00 a.m. on December 24 and continues through 6:00 a.m. on December 28.

Coverage includes 24-hour Urology call with inpatient consults, urgent and emergent add-on surgical cases, phone consultations, and daily rounding. Daytime coverage is generally onsite from approximately 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., followed by overnight phone call unless an urgent procedure requires the Urologist to return.

The call structure includes four callback hours within each 24-hour period before additional callback time applies.

The current inpatient list averages approximately 20 patients, with roughly 3-5 add-on cases per day.

The clinical scope may include:
- Cystoscopy for stone cases
- Ureteral stent placement
- Torsion
- Fulguration
- Urinary retention
- Suprapubic catheter management
- Difficult or guided catheter placement
- Other urgent and emergent Urology cases

The department has substantial support, including 8 Urologists and 9 APPs across the system. Urology techs assist with difficult catheter placement, catheter-related issues, and CBI management, while Hospitalists manage admissions.

Strong PA support is also available, including assistance with operative and postoperative patient care.

The client is looking for a Urologist who is comfortable managing acute inpatient cases and has strong general Urology fundamentals.

Additional requirements:
- BC/BE in Urology
- Active IMLC Letter of Qualification required
- Eligibility for Minnesota medical licensure
- 30-minute response time for emergent cases
