Position Overview
A long-term locum tenens opportunity is available for a Urologist to provide comprehensive outpatient and surgical coverage. The ideal provider will be comfortable managing patients throughout the continuum of care, including new consults, in-office procedures, postoperative follow-up, and OR cases.
The anticipated schedule is approximately 3–4 days in clinic and 1 day in the OR per week. The exact schedule is still being finalized and may be adjusted based on coverage needs.
Providers able to commit to two consecutive weeks at a time are strongly preferred, allowing continuity of care for surgical patients and appropriate postoperative follow-up.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday coverage
- Approximately 5 days per week
- Anticipated 3–4 clinic days and 1 OR day per week
- Clinic hours: approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- OR hours: approximately 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
- No weekends
- No overnight or after-hours call
- No scheduled call requirement
- Some flexibility may be needed to complete charts after scheduled clinical hours
Patient Volume
- Approximately 30–35 outpatient Urology patients per day
- Mix of new consultations, follow-up visits, procedures, and postoperative care
Clinical Responsibilities
The ideal provider will be comfortable handling a broad range of Urology services, including:
New patient consultations
Follow-up visits
Postoperative patient management
In-office procedures
Surgical/OR patients
Preoperative and postoperative care
Comprehensive Urologic evaluation and treatment
OR & Procedural Experience
Robotic surgery experience is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
- Hold an active Oregon medical license
- Be comfortable providing both outpatient and OR coverage
- Have broad Urologic procedural experience
- Be comfortable managing postoperative patients
- robotic surgical experience preferred
- Be available for extended coverage, ideally in two-week blocks
- Be able to provide continuity of care from surgery through postoperative follow-up
- Ongoing for a year or longer
- Travel/Lodging Provided
