Position Overview & Clinical Scope

An acute care hospital system in southwest Washington is seeking a Locum Tenens Urology Advanced Practice Provider (NP preferred, surgical PA accepted) for coverage split between a 122-bed hospital and an outpatient urology clinic located 1 mile away. The provider will manage preoperative surgical workups, conduct in-office urological procedures, perform hospital rounding, and assist in surgical cases.

Practice & Clinical Workflow

Setting & Patient Population: Combined inpatient hospital and outpatient clinic coverage serving patients aged 17 and older (Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics). Average volume is 18 patients per day.

Practice Model:

Nurse Practitioner (Ideal): Operates independently without supervising physician requirements.

Physician Assistant: Operates in collaboration with MD/DO (Surgical PAs assist with surgeries/rounding; non-surgical PAs handle clinic-only volume).

Core Procedures & Clinical Focus: Preoperative surgical workups, diagnostic cystoscopies, erectile dysfunction diagnosis/treatment, kidney stone management, male incontinence care, prescription refills, and surgical first-assisting.

Documentation: Epic EMR across hospital and outpatient clinic settings.

Candidate Qualification & Submission Requirements

Licensure & Certifications:

Board Certification: Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) [REQUIRED].

State Licensure: Active Washington State Medical/Nursing License in hand at time of presentation [REQUIRED; IMLC compact not accepted].

Life Support: Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications [REQUIRED].

• Full-Time Day Shift (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
