Dually Trained Neurosurgery/Endovascular Locum Opportunity – South Carolina
Job description
Position Overview:
Seeking dually trained Neurosurgery + Neuroendovascular physicians ONLY for locum coverage at a busy Level II Trauma Center in South Carolina. This role supports stroke intervention services and neurosurgical trauma call coverage.
⚠️ Important:
Must be dually trained in Neurosurgery AND Neuroendovascular
Neurointerventional Radiologists will NOT be considered
Active South Carolina license required (in hand)
Assignment Details
Start: Ongoing (coverage for PTO, CME, call support)
Schedule: Approx. 4 days per month (variable based on need)
Call Type: Trauma + Stroke Intervention
EMR: eClinicalWorks
Support: No mid-level support
Practice Setting
~300+ bed acute care hospital
Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 ER
Teaching facility with residents
Full-service hospital including stroke, spine, cardiac, ICU, and oncology
24/7 hospitalists and intensivists in-house
Work Details
ED Consults (Neurosurgery/Trauma): ~6–10 per shift (varies by acuity)
Stroke Interventions: Required (dually trained role)
Volume: Moderate to high; call can vary from manageable to very busy
Requirements
Board Certified/Eligible in Neurosurgery
Fellowship training in Neuroendovascular required
Active SC License (required at submission)
Additional Info
Coverage need driven by PTO, CME, and call support
Established permanent team in place
