Vascular Surgery PA/NP – Inpatient
Coverage: ASAP–ongoing, likely 6 months
Schedule: 40 hours/week with rotating nights, weekends, and call. Flexible 10- or 12-hour shifts required. Typical shifts include 7a–5p, 7a–7p, 9a–9p, and 7p–7a.
Call: 1–2 days/week; in-house or beeper/home call.
Position Details:
1 PA or NP with RNFA required.
100% inpatient; adult and geriatric patients.
Round on approximately 3–5 patients/day.
Mix of inpatient medical management, rounding, and OR coverage.
First assist for vascular surgery cases.
Manage conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and acute illness.
Provide pre- and post-operative vascular surgical care.
Must be comfortable with open vascular procedures, including peripheral bypass, carotid surgery, AV fistula creation, and open abdominal aortic surgery.
Bedside procedures may include suturing, PermCath removal, wound VACs, dressing changes, and wound care.
Epic EMR.
No outpatient clinic or IR procedures.
Requirements:
2–3 years of vascular surgery experience required.
Cardiac surgery experience with vascular coverage may also be considered.
PA: NCCPA certification.
NP: ANCC or AANP certification and RNFA.
Active New York license at submission.
BLS and ACLS required.
DEA required.
Estimated credentialing: 90 days.
Temporary providers are accepted
