Schedule & Coverage

Start Date: February 2026

Shift Schedule:

7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

10-hour shifts

Coverage Type: Scheduled shifts + required call

Call Requirements:

Weeknight and weekend call rotation (1:4)

Night call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Weekend beeper call: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM

Weekend call includes rounding with the vascular surgeon once on Saturday and once on Sunday mornings

Block Schedule Includes

February: 17–20

March: 2–5, 17–20, 30–April 2

April: 13–16, 27–30

May: 11–14, 25–28

Practice Details

Typically 4 Vascular Surgery PAs working 4 ten-hour shifts

Daily operations include:

2 PAs assisting in surgery (approximately 2–6 cases per day)

Remaining PAs rounding on 10–20 inpatients

Adult patient population

Hospital-based practice setting

Facility Details

Level I trauma center

Approximately 430+ beds

Busy vascular surgery service

EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

First assisting in vascular surgery cases

Vein harvesting

Arteriovenous procedures

Aortagrams, angiograms, and bypasses

Endovascular procedures

TAAs

Rounding and inpatient management

Discharge planning and orders

Floating between the OR and inpatient floors

Occasional involvement in trauma-related cases

Requirements

Certified Physician Assistant

Active Ohio license required

ACLS required

Minimum of 1 year of experience

Trauma hospital experience strongly preferred

Credentialing

Emergency privileges available
