Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA)

Location: Lima, OH

Assignment Dates: July 18–25 and December 25

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 08:00 – 16:00

Call Requirements: Evening and weekend call/call-back required

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery PA to provide short-term coverage for a Level 2 Trauma facility in Lima, Ohio. This role involves a full continuum of care, including surgical first-assisting, inpatient rounding, and clinic coverage. The provider will work autonomously in clinical settings but will have a supervising surgeon present during OR cases and clinic hours.

Clinical Responsibilities & Duties

Surgical First-Assisting: Extensive experience required in Open Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic surgeries.

Procedures: Proficiency in chest tube insertions, thoracentesis, and suture removal.

Patient Management: Pre-op physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, writing prescriptions, and inpatient rounding.

Volume: Patient load varies based on surgical schedule and hospital census.

EMR: Epic.

Submission & Compliance Requirements

Certification: NCCPA Board Certification is required.

Licensure: Active Ohio State License preferred

Life Support: Active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Vetting: A Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days of presentation) is mandatory at the time of submission.

Experience: Verified training or clinical experience in Cardiothoracic/Vascular surgery is required.

Availability: Must be available for the exact dates listed to be considered.
