Role Overview
Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon (MD/DO) for a full-time, permanent direct-hire position to establish and lead a community-based vascular surgery program in Findlay, OH. Position includes a clinical faculty appointment (Assistant or Associate Professor) through an academic medical center partner while operating 100% clinically in a community hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities & Clinical Scope
Surgical Scope: Perform both open and endovascular procedures, including treatment for abdominal/thoracic aneurysmal disease, carotid artery disease, hemodialysis access, peripheral vascular disease, and limb salvage.
Program Leadership & Growth: Lead clinical delivery, supervise advanced practice providers (APPs), and participate in future program expansion (adding a second surgeon/APP and transitioning to a hybrid OR by 2027).
Interdisciplinary & Academics: Collaborate with cardiology and interventional radiology; serve as a preceptor for medical students, residents, and nursing staff.
Qualifications & Candidate Requirements
Board Status: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Vascular Surgery [REQUIRED] (BE must be within 5 years of training completion with active test plans).
Licensure & Credentials: Active Ohio Medical License (or willing to obtain) and Federal DEA [REQUIRED prior to start].
Background Check: Clean malpractice and licensing record; active NPDB Self-Query Report generated within 30 days [REQUIRED].
Agency Direct Exclusivity: Candidates who have previously applied directly to the facility or health network are strictly ineligible.
Schedule & On-Call Structure
Weekly Schedule: 5-day work week consisting of 2 clinic days and 3 procedural/surgical days.
On-Call: 10 night/weekend call shifts per month (no daytime coverage required). Call is shared with a PRN surgeon, a vascular APP, and telephone support from an academic partner.
