Job description

A Level II Trauma Center in Ogden, Utah is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon for locums call coverage during the holiday season.

Coverage Details
Dates: December 28, 2026 - January 3, 2027
Schedule: 24-hour call coverage
Setting: Inpatient
No clinic responsibilities
Coverage needed ASAP
Practice Highlights
Level II Trauma Center
Established cardiovascular and thoracic surgery program
Approximately 80 heart cases annually
Average patient volume: 10-12 patients per week
Approximately 3-5 consults per week
Approximately 1 cardiac and 2-3 thoracic surgeries per week
Required Experience
Board Certified Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery
Must be comfortable performing both cardiac and thoracic procedures
Comfortable with independent call coverage and inpatient rounding
Support Staff
Advanced Practice Provider
Registered Nurse
Medical Assistant
Medical Office Specialist
Hospital-provided vein harvest team
Nurse Practitioner available Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-5 PM (subject to PTO)
Additional Details
Provider responsible for rounding and coverage outside NP availability
Must be comfortable operating without a dedicated surgical assist
Malpractice coverage provided
Travel and lodging provided
