LOCUM TRAUMA SURGEON

DATES OF COVERAGE
✓ Start Date: December 1, 2026 – Ongoing

SCHEDULE
✓ 24-hour pager call coverage
✓ Inpatient rounding and consultations
✓ Possible limited clinic coverage
✓ Call coverage required
✓ Coverage stretches preferred when possible
✓ Anticipated callback frequency: 1–2 times per week

PRACTICE SETTING
✓ Inpatient/hospital-based
✓ Clinic
✓ Level I Trauma Center

PATIENT POPULATION & CASE VOLUME
✓ Adult and geriatric patients only
✓ More than 95% inpatient
✓ Average of 1–2 consults per week
✓ Approximately 1–2 urgent or emergent cases per week
✓ Approximately 3–5 total cases per week

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
✓ Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience
✓ Relevant experience managing emergent surgical cases
✓ Experience with vascular injuries resulting from penetrating trauma
✓ Experience with ruptured aortic aneurysm repair

EMR
✓ Epic experience preferred

REQUIREMENTS
✓ Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency
✓ Fellowship required
✓ Active Minnesota medical license preferred

CREDENTIALING
✓ Estimated timeframe: 60 days for clean files
✓ Temporary privileges may be available

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
✓ Primary responsibility is Level I trauma coverage
✓ Limited clinic coverage may be added for surgical referrals and postoperative visits
✓ No teaching responsibilities required
