Historical salary data

How does this year's salary for Anesthesiologists compare to other years?

The average anesthesiologist’s salary has fluctuated throughout the pandemic, but is up 11.5% from its low water mark in 2020 when many anesthesiologists lost work or had their roles shift to assisting with intubating COVID patients.

Anesthesiology care providers are keenly aware of demand for their role at this time, and are not incentivized to settle for lower pay. This point of tension between anesthesiologists seeking work opportunities and medical facilities seeking to quickly fill open anesthesiologist positions in has resulted in ongoing gaps in care nationwide.
