Cardiothoracic Surgeon needed in Altoona, PA! $3,500/day +Travel and Lodging!

• Coverage Type: Looking for a cardiac surgery to cover cases and call for when our primary surgeon is on vacation or needs weekends off
• Schedule Details: Typically 2 long weekends a month (Thursday-Monday) and any additional stretches for PTO or holidays.
The site needs someone to cover consecutive days like a Thursday at 7am- to the following Monday at 7am, not one day at a time. Minimal calls on inpatients and admissions. Rarely get urgent dissections or overnight needs that require surgical intervention.

Do not need the provider to be in house 24/7. Our covering docs usually stay in a hotel in the area and need to be available no more than a 30 minute response time for calls.

MD is usually in house for rounding, cases, and office visits usually 8-430 for non case days or 630am for case days due to OR start time.

The office receives the calls in house M-F 8am-4pm (with the exception of holidays) and answering service will call the docs with any needs from 4pm-8am the following morning.

For the weekends/holidays- the docs will receive calls 24/7 starting at 4pm then day before the weekend or holiday-Monday/next business day at 8am.

Weekends have No APP coverage and all OR staff is On-call only. All cases need to be called into the answering service so the OR staff can be called in, and the answering service will send all calls and consults directly to the MD.
