Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Imaging:
Performing and interpreting a range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including but not limited to:
X-rays
CT scans
MRI
Ultrasound
Basic Nuclear Medicine procedures (if required)
Interventional Radiology Procedures:
Performing a variety of interventional procedures, such as:
Angioplasty
Stenting
Embolizations
Other minimally invasive vascular and non-vascular procedures
Report Writing:
Generating accurate and timely radiology reports for each patient examined.
Patient Communication:
Discussing findings and procedures with patients and referring physicians.
Procedure Preparation:
Assisting with preparation of patients for procedures, including pre-procedure education and post-procedure care.
Teamwork:
Collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, technologists, and other radiologists.
Quality Assurance:
Participating in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the department.
Nuclear Medicine Interpretation:
Depending on the specific needs of the facility, this may include interpreting basic Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures.
Requirements:
Licensure: Current and valid license to practice in the state/country where the locum position is located.
Board Certification: Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology, Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and possibly Nuclear Medicine (depending on the specific position).
Experience: Experience in a hospital or clinic setting, preferably with experience in a similar practice setting.
Skills: Strong technical skills in a variety of imaging modalities and interventional techniques, including fluoroscopy.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to effectively assess and manage a variety of complex cases.
