Outpatient Wound Care NP/PA – Weekdays Only | Debridement & Advanced Modalities | NM License Required

Job description

A full-time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is needed for an outpatient clinic in New Mexico, offering weekday hours with no weekends or call. The provider will manage a panel of 18–20 patients per day, performing assessments, debridements, and comprehensive wound management in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Core Responsibilities:
Perform wound debridement using sharp, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical methods

Apply and manage topical wound care and advanced technologies (e.g., VAC therapy)

Order and interpret labs, imaging, and vascular studies as needed

Prescribe medications, DME, and necessary wound healing supplies

Educate patients and families on wound care protocols

Coordinate updates and plans with referring physicians and care teams

Lead and support RNs, LPNs, MAs, and possibly students or residents

Requirements:
NP or PA license in NM (NPs must hold MSN and Board approval for medical acts)

Clinic experience in wound care specialty

Wound Care Certification (WOCN, CWCN, or equivalent) preferred

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Clinic-Based Simplicity: Monday–Friday 8–5, no call or weekends
• Hands-On Care: Perform debridement, apply advanced wound therapies, and guide treatment plans start to finish
• Team Leadership: Oversee nursing staff and collaborate across care teams while driving patient outcomes
