Cardiothoracic Surgeon | 1–2 Weeks/Month Ongoing

Job description

Our client is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a long-term locum tenens assignment in Virginia, covering 1 to 2 weeks per month (Monday–Monday) on an ongoing basis. This opportunity involves a blend of clinic, inpatient rounding, and light 24-hour call coverage. The position is supported by a robust team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in both the hospital and clinic.


Job Details:
Schedule: 1–2 weeks per month (Monday–Monday) throughout the year
Setting: Combination of outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and 24-hour call
Call: Light; typically just a few times per week. Always supported by an APP.
Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (2–3 days per week, usually afternoons)
Rounding: Daily hospital rounds 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM (typically with an APP)
No active surgeries scheduled; focus is on post-op care and consults
Location: Virginia
Travel & lodging provided

Perform procedures such as:
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
Aortic and valvular surgery
Atrial fibrillation management
Endovascular aneurysm repair
TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
