Job Title: Mental Health Professional
Position Overview: New Hope Community Service Center (NHCSC) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Professional to join our Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) in Chicago, IL. In this vital role, you'll support returning citizens in addressing harmful behaviors, help them build healthier lives, and promote community safety through evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, facilitating individual, group, and family therapy sessions focused on sex offender treatment, and developing individualized treatment plans.

We empower individuals and families overcoming substance use disorders, mental health struggles, and challenges related to justice involvement, providing comprehensive, culturally competent, and trauma-informed care. You'll collaborate closely with probation/parole officers, the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), and community partners.

Any Other Requirements
Education:
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field required.
Licensure:
For Master’s-level candidates: Active, unrestricted Illinois license (LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or Psychologist).
For Bachelor’s-level candidates: Demonstrated commitment to pursuing relevant licensure or certification (e.g., CADC, LSW, LPC), or actively working toward a Master’s degree.
Experience:
Minimum 1–3 years of direct clinical service experience, ideally within a forensic, correctional, or justice-involved setting.
Experience in sex offender treatment methodologies and risk assessment tools strongly preferred.
Background working with returning citizens or justice-involved individuals highly valued.
Strong understanding of ethical and legal standards for sex offender treatment and client confidentiality.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation and client records in accordance with ethical, legal, and agency standards.
Participate in regular clinical supervision, case consultations, and team meetings.
