Job description
Key Responsibilities
Serve as first point of contact for CTS patient pages
Conduct comprehensive histories and physical examinations
Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic studies
Initiate and manage treatments within scope of practice and standardized procedures
Participate in perioperative planning and care coordination
Manage discharges, transfers, prescriptions, referrals, and consults
Perform admissions and new consult evaluations
Execute procedural skills, including:
Removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, IABPs, and arterial sheaths
Provide patient and family education, ensuring smooth transitions of care and follow-up planning
Clinical Practice & Competency
All privileges are contingent upon demonstrated competency through the proctoring and FPPE process. Approved procedures and independent practice capabilities are tracked via ECHO, with procedural documentation maintained in the e-log platform.

Practice Setting: Inpatient hospital-based
Qualifications
Required:
Board Certification: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC
Master’s degree (required for PAs)
Active California license (PA license sponsorship available; NP license sponsorship not available)
DEA License
AHA ACLS & BLS certifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiothoracic surgery, including independent critical care management of CTS patients
ECMO experience
Preferred:
Background in transplantation, critical care, cardiology, or acute care
