Contract Length: Ongoing (Locum Tenens)
Coverage: Scheduled + No Call
Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night)

Intensivist (Day): 7a–7p

APP (Night): 7p–7a

Position Overview

Location: Southern New Mexico, 199-bed hospital near a major metro (population 300K)

ICU Model: Open | 32 beds

Patient Mix: Medical/Surgical & Post-Cardiac Surgery

Avg Census: 8–15

Code Team: Yes, Critical Care docs on team

Support: Tele-Intensivist at night | Pulmonary group + Intensivist practice

EMR: Epic

APP Responsibilities

Overnight ICU coverage for patients managed by Intensivists

Manage new admissions & transfers

Perform ICU procedures (central lines, intubations required)

Collaborate with Tele-Intensivist for admissions and support during busy times

Requirements

Must have ACTIVE NM license

Board Certified APP (NP/PA)

Minimum 2 years ICU/Critical Care experience

Accepted Pathways: Pulm/CCM, Surgical CC, EM/CC, Anesthesia CC, CCM
