NP for Outpatient SUD Treatment Center

Job description

Under Angel's Wings Recovery Center is an outpatient OASAS SUD program located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We provide MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) for opioids and alcohol, Ancillary Withdrawal Services, Psychiatric Evaluation, Medication Management, Individual/Group counseling. We operate on a Hybrid (In person and Telehealth) model, open 7 days per week, and provide services in English, Spanish and Polish.

The NP shall conduct induction for Medication Assisted Therapy for opioids and or alcohol, psychiatric evaluation, initial medication prescribing and medication management. The NP will work closely with the Director and a multidisciplinary team. He/she will be an integral member of the team and provide treatment to patients in the behavioral health continuum. The NP shall participate in consultations and participate in clinical training and staff development.

In this role, you will:
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for program participants.
• Provide onsite psychiatric consultation to agency staff.
• Analyze and evaluate the extent of mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
• Evaluate the need for, prescribe, medication assistant therapies for SUD disorders and psychotropic medication.
• Ensure the maintenance of accurate, complete, and timely client records that comply with regulatory standards and agency internal policy and procedure.

We require:
• Current New York State MD/DO license
• Valid DEA registration
• BLS certification
• eMEDNY Provider or willingness to enroll as a “Provider” upon hire
• Active NPI
• Medicaid Provider
• At least Three (3) years’ work experience with substance use population, working with the underserved, adolescent and adult population, transient populations and clinical co-morbidities (co-occurring mental health, substance abuse and physical health problems)
• No current investigation by a representative or agent of any governmental body including Federal healthcare programs (Medicaid or Medicare), healthcare organization, or any professional society, due to allegations of substandard client/patient care, medical negligence or unethical behavior; no prior restriction or termination of clinical privileges by the medical staff of any healthcare organization or a state or federal medical license/certification/registration; no Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or General Services Administration (GSA) sanction.
• Knowledgeable about the treatment needs of a substance using population (achieving and maintaining harm reduction and/or abstinence) and medical and medication management of addiction; including ancilliary withdrawal services
• Works with adolescent, teenagers and adults.
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, presentation and organizational skills
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Team player and ability to work independently
