Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant needed in Delaware

HIGH NEED! Client open to 1 week/month

Location: Delaware
Rate: Hourly, call
Expenses: Flights, Hotel, Rental Car
Duration: 3-6 months, more like 6 months
License: Will license if needed

Client is looking for 1 FTE NP/PA to help cover 4 weekday shifts plus weeknight/weekend starting Jan 2026 for 3-6 months.

Open to licensing and active license candidates.

Locums Shift Schedule: 4 shifts M-F: 2 shifts @ 7a-7p and 2 shifts @ 7a-3p
Call Schedule and Call Responsibilities: 1-2 weekday calls/week (M-Th 7p-7a. will be on ) and 1 in 3 weekends (Fri 7p-Mon 7a).

They must have experience with chest tube placement and skilled in open and endoscopic vein harvest.

24hr call w/4hr gratis: 8x hourly

EMR system: EPIC
Reason for Coverage: Need EVH capable PA/NP
FTE or Shifts per month needed: 1.0 FTE
Inpatient, Outpatient or both: Primarily Inpatient

Responsibilities include CVSICU post op patient resuscitation, nursing and patient calls from home, weekend inpatient rounding, responding to stat consults/change in clinical status, emergent OR cases.
Type of patients / cases / procedures required: Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, MUST be EVH capable. CVSICU, floor management, inpatient consults, outpatient office coverage.
Patient Encounters per shift: 10-20
Available support staff: Surgeons, fellow APCS, nursing
Certifications required (Board Certification/Truly Board Eligible or life support, etc.): ACLS/BLS
Vaccination Requirements: influenza vaccine may be declined if practitioner wears mask per health system policy.

Ideal Candidate Description: 6 month commitment, experience with chest tube placement, skilled in open and endoscopic vein harvest. Open radial artery harvest preferred but not required.
