Locums – APP – Outpatient Cardiothoracic Surgery (NP/PA) – Southern CA

Schedule & Coverage

Start Date: As soon as credentialed

Contract Length: 3 months, ongoing

Shift Description: Day

Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour days)

Coverage: Scheduled, No Call

Work Details

Support Staff:
3 MDs, 2 front office staff, 1 surgery scheduler, 2 medical assistants

Coverage Needed: Full-time (Mon–Fri)

Patient Volume: 35–40 per week; Mondays slower, Tuesdays busiest

Patient Population: All ages

Practice Description:
Outpatient clinic supporting 3 cardiothoracic surgeons with pre/post-op patient care.
Role is approximately 60% administrative / 40% clinical.

Duties:

Autonomously perform wound care and suturing

Pre/post-op evaluations

No invasive or surgical procedures performed in clinic

EMR: EPIC

Special Procedures: Wound care, suturing

Required Skills & Experience

Prefer surgical or cardiothoracic/cardiac background

Extensive experience in another specialty may be considered if adept in pre/post-op management and minor procedures

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Board Certification: Required

License: Active CA license required

DEA: Required

Certifications: BLS

Credentialing Timeframe: 60–75 days
