Work Details:
• Support Staff: Comprehensive heart team including consultants, APPs, and specialized cardiac nursing staff
• Coverage Needed: Ongoing monthly coverage (details provided during interview)
• Patient Volume: Not overly busy—approx. 300 cases per year shared between two surgeons
• Patient Population: Adult cardiac patients
Department Overview:
This advanced cardiac program specializes in:
• Complex Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) – on/off-pump and multi-arterial revascularization
• Minimally invasive valve repair/replacement
• Transcatheter structural heart procedures (TAVR, TMVR, TEER, etc.)
• Arrhythmia surgeries and catheter-based interventions
• ECMO management
• ICU-level postoperative critical care
• Collaborative heart team–based decision making and shared patient management
Skills & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the full scope of adult cardiothoracic and structural heart surgery, including:
• Minimally invasive mitral and aortic valve procedures
• Transcatheter valve repair/replacement
• Arrhythmia surgery
• All aspects of CABG
• ECMO and advanced critical care
• Experience or fellowship training in Structural Heart preferred
• Strong ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
