Location: Minnesota
Start Date: ASAP (Ideal start January 1, 2026, but credentialing committee meets January 5, 2026)
License: Active Minnesota License or IMLC Required
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide locum tenens coverage at a leading Minnesota cardiac center. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a broad range of routine to advanced cardiothoracic cases and available for an immediate start.
Schedule & Call Requirements
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
1:3 call week rotation
Call weeks include:
Day shift call
Overnight call (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
Weekend 24-hour call
Case Mix
Primarily routine cardiothoracic procedures, including but not limited to:
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
Cardiac valve repair and replacement
Aortic aneurysm repair
Aortic dissection surgery
Atrial fibrillation surgery
Carotid endarterectomy
Congenital heart surgery
Esophageal surgery (including minimally invasive)
Heart failure surgery
Heart transplant surgery
LVAD placement
Lung surgery
Minimally invasive & robotic heart surgery
Thoracoscopic surgery
Requirements
Board-certified/board-eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Minnesota license or IMLC eligibility
Ability to handle a wide range of cardiothoracic procedures
Availability for full-time schedule and call rotation
