Role Overview
WoundStar Healthcare is revolutionizing mobile wound care delivery for underserved communities. As Medical Director (Oversight), you will provide compliant physician supervision for our advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs) across Georgia and/or North Carolina, ensuring clinical excellence while supporting our mission to reduce disparities and eliminate preventable amputations.
Responsibilities
Serve as collaborating/supervising physician for 4–8 WoundStar NPs/PAs per state (ratio compliant with state regulations).
Review and co-sign charts/protocols monthly (estimated 4–8 hours).
Be available for asynchronous consultation and quarterly quality assurance calls.
Participate in periodic training/webinars on SDOH-integrated wound protocols (optional compensated marketing hours available).
Assist with occasional compliant marketing/outreach to facilities (separate hourly compensation).
Maintain active, unrestricted medical license in GA and/or NC and good standing with Medicare/Medicaid (no exclusions).
Requirements
Board-certified in relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, or Certified Wound Specialist).
Active GA and/or NC medical license.
Minimum 3 years clinical experience in wound care/hyperbaric medicine preferred.
Passion for health equity and innovative care models.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position with a 12-month renewable term. Compensation is fixed monthly (no volume-based incentives). Full Stark/AKS compliance documentation provided.
