Locums – Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Oncology - Southern California
Job description
Start Date: January 19, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Coverage Type: Scheduled (No Call)
Contract Length: 3 months, ongoing with potential to convert to permanent
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Work Details
Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic / private practice
Support Staff: Front office staff, physicians
Coverage Needed: Full-time
Patient Volume:
Monday: 5–6 patients
Tuesday: 40–45 patients
Wednesday–Thursday: 30–35 patients
Friday: 5–6 patients
Population: Adult oncology
Responsibilities:
Manage outpatient oncology patients
Order chemotherapy, imaging, and complex labs
Interpret CT, MRI, PET scans
Utilize Beacon module in EPIC
Required Skills:
Strong outpatient oncology background
Ability to manage high-volume days
Chemotherapy management and oncology workflows
Requirements
Board Certification: ARNP
License: Active California NP license
DEA: Required
Certifications:
Required: Certified FNP or ARNP, ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification
Preferred: OCN or AOCN
Experience: Minimum 2 years in outpatient oncology (internal medicine experience is a plus)
Credentialing: 60–90 days; interim work possible to start sooner
