Locums – Physician – General Cardiology - West Virginia

Start Date: 1/5/2026 or ASAP after credentialing
Contract Length: 12 months (client will only review candidates who can commit to a full year)
Coverage: Scheduled shifts only, no call

Position Overview

A large Level 1 trauma center is seeking a Cardiology Physician for inpatient consult-only coverage. Providers will manage new consults on the hospital floors with support from experienced APPs. No ICU work, no procedures beyond standard cardiology diagnostics, and no call responsibilities.

Schedule

8-hour day shifts starting at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM

Monday–Friday or 7-on/7-off

Coverage needed: 2 weeks per month

No nights, weekends, or call

Clinical Details

Setting: Inpatient, 1,078-bed hospital

Volume: ~10 patients per day

Duties: Consults only, no follow-up

Required Skills: Cardiograms, nuclear stress tests

EMR: Cerner

Support Staff: NPs and PAs

Requirements

Board Certified

Active state license or IMLC

DEA required

BLS and ACLS required

Experience with inpatient cardiology preferred

Credentialing

Approximately 60 days

IMLC candidates accepted
