Locum Neonatology Nurse Practitioner - Nights - CA license

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide locum services in a Level IV NICU setting in Sacramento, CA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an NNP with advanced NICU experience looking for full-time night coverage starting January 19, 2026.

🏥 Job Details:
Specialty: Neonatology – Level IV NICU
Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Schedule:

Full-time, 3x12-hour night shifts per week
Nights: 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM
Occasional day shifts available
No call required

Contract Length: 3 months (potential to extend)
Start Date: January 19, 2026
Responsibilities:

Provide care for neonates in a Level IV NICU
Manage extremely low birth weight infants and urgent surgical cases
Perform advanced NICU procedures: neonatal resuscitation, intubation, surfactant administration, line placement (UAC, UVC, PAL, PICC), needle thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, lumbar puncture, exchange transfusion
Document care in Epic EMR


✅ Requirements:

Active California NP license
Board Certification in Neonatology
Certifications: NRP (required), PALS, BLS (AHA)
Minimum 2 years NICU experience
Epic EMR experience required


📋 Credentialing:

Estimated timeframe: ~30–45 days
Completion of facility-specific forms and verifications required
Interview with department leadership
