About the clinician's workday

This locum will work primarily in the inpatient setting. Consults are initially directed to PAs. The provider will take 24-hour call for GYN oncology, with morning rounding on 3-5 post-op patients on weekdays if needed, although few post-ops are expected during the two-week assignment as the regular surgeons will be away. Responsibilities include signing chemotherapy orders and writing prescriptions. Weekend rounding is generally not required, and most consults will wait until Monday. The provider may be required to admit patients, participate in weekday call, and handle weekend call or onsite shifts only for surgical emergencies. Required procedures include robotic surgeries, minimally invasive procedures, and inpatient chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is administered by MDs, including locums. Average number of new consults per week is 1-2.
