Hematology / Oncology Physician – Locum Tenens

Cambridge, Ohio

A community-based cancer program in eastern Ohio is seeking a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist (Hematology/Oncology preferred) for part-time, ongoing locum coverage.


Assignment Details

Schedule: 3 days per month over a 1-week period

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Setting: Office-based outpatient coverage

Patient Population: Adults only

Case Mix: 60% Hematology / 40% Oncology

No procedural duties required


Clinical Responsibilities

Evaluate new patients requiring chemotherapy and those with blood disorders

Develop and formalize treatment plans in accordance with NCCN guidelines

Enter and manage chemotherapy orders, including reauthorizations

Ongoing management of established oncology and hematology patients


Case & Volume Highlights

Typical daily volume: 14–18 patients

New patients: No more than 3 per day

Common oncology cases: Breast and colon cancer


Support & Resources

Team: 2 APPs, 1 Radiation Oncologist, and a dedicated RN

Collaborative, well-supported environment


Requirements

Board Certified in Medical Oncology (Hematology/Oncology strongly preferred)

ACLS required if requesting Moderate Sedation privileges

Minimum 1 year of experience rounding on oncology patients in a medical oncology department
