Job description

Join a high-performing perioperative team serving the Virginia Beach community and surrounding region. We’re seeking Board-Certified Anesthesiologists for a full-time locum assignment beginning January 2026 with flexible day shifts and limited pager call.

Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital (Level III Trauma) | 273 beds
EMR: Cerner
Assignment Window: Jan 1 – February (credentialing available for a Jan 5 start if you can begin then)

Schedule
Day shifts with 8s, 10s, and 12s offered (set by team needs)
Typical window ~8:00a–5:00p (flexible)
Pager call required: weeknights and/or weekends; indicative ratio 1:07

Case Mix & Setting
Adult cases required; pediatrics preferred (as applicable)
General, OB, Spine (neuro-spine), Complex Vascular (non–open heart), Complex Ortho
Exposure to Cardiac Cath Lab & EP Lab
No open-heart anesthesia, no thoracic, no pain-management procedures

Role & Model
Physician-led care team environment (you’ll supervise CRNAs, perform MD-only cases as needed, and support perioperative leadership functions)
Pre-ops, intra-op management, and post-op handoffs per service line standards

Procedures & Skills
Proficient with neuraxial (spinals/epidurals) and regional anesthesia
Ventilation management, arterial/central line placement as needed
PA catheter not required

Requirements
Board Certified in Anesthesiology (ABA)
Virginia medical license (open to licensing candidates)
Prior trauma-center experience strongly preferred
ACLS/BLS (active)
