Emergency Medicine Physician Locums in East Texas Free Standing ERs

Quick facts
• Need: 12 Emergency Medicine physicians across the system
• Start date: February 1 2026
• Assignment length: 12 months
• Locations in and around Canton Lindale and Winnsboro Texas
• Free standing emergency departments
• Will see about 60 patients per 24 hours
• Minimum 5 shifts per month

Position and schedule
• Emergency Medicine physician locums
• Full time need with flexible scheduling
• Physician shifts
o 6 am to 6 pm
o 6 pm to 6 am
• NP PA coverage
o Monday 8 am to 5 pm and 12 pm to 9 pm
o Tuesday through Friday 8 am to 8 pm
o Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 8 pm

Requirements
• MD or DO
• Active Texas license and appropriate DEA registrations
• ABEM preferred
• EM residency trained preferred
• Will consider FM trained physicians with strong Emergency Department experience
• If EM board certified
o Must show proof of having ATLS at least once
• If FM residency trained or FM EM board eligible
o Must have current ATLS ACLS and PALS

Credentialing and orientation
• Expected credentialing timeline about 60 days or more even with temporary privileges
• Separate credentialing application for Winnsboro from Canton and Lindale
• One time hospital application fee of 300 dollars for Canton and Lindale together
• Orientation usually 3 to 4 hours in the morning plus ED shadowing for a total of 12 hours
• Epic training completed before orientation
• Epic test out available for providers with prior Epic experience

Compensation
• $250 per hour
• Locums structure with details to be finalized based on availability and experience
