Job description
We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with Occupational Medicine experience to provide locum coverage in an outpatient rehab clinic setting in Watsonville, CA.
This is an excellent opportunity for providers seeking consistent weekday coverage with potential for permanent placement.
🏥 Job Details:
Specialty: Occupational Medicine
Setting: Outpatient rehab clinic
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
No call, no weekends
Contract Length: 3+ months (locum assignment with potential extension or locums-to-perm)
Patient Volume: Varies; direct patient care in clinic setting
Patient Population: Adults (work-related injuries and occupational health needs)
Team Support: Collaborative environment with medical director, therapists, specialists, and support staff
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and treat occupational medicine patients in accordance with clinic practice model
Establish and monitor appropriate levels of care for patients
Complete all medical record documentation prior to end of shift
Collaborate with Center Medical Director to ensure operations meet professional standards of care
Recommend growth opportunities for new or existing services within the center
Communicate with employers regarding employee injuries and significant clinical changes
Provide guidance to other medical personnel in absence of Center Medical Director
Ensure compliance with State Practice Acts and Workers’ Compensation regulations
Cultivate relationships with center clients and payers, responding promptly to requests
Participate in team meetings to improve quality, patient safety, and case management
Support staff development and foster a collaborative, professional environment
Promote center initiatives and workflows consistent with other centers
✅ Requirements:
Active California license (required)
Board Certification: BC/BE in primary care or related field
DEA certification
COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only)
Experience: Prior occupational medicine experience preferred
Ability to work independently and manage staff and clinical workflows
📋 Credentialing:
Estimated timeframe: ~30–60 days
Completion of facility-specific forms and verifications required
