Job description
Pathologist Opportunity – OH
Specialty: Pathology (MD/DO)
Certification Requirement: Must be AP/CP Board Certified (no B/E)
Work Details:
• Supports community labs across the Adena Health system
• Significant cytology, including head & neck cases (more details forthcoming)
• Three hospitals send specimens to the Chillicothe location for processing
• Responsibilities include:
– Grossing biopsies and moderately complex resections
– Potential assistance with highly complex resections
– Frozen sections
– FNA adequacy assessments
• Support staff includes lab technologists, an Anatomic Pathology Technologist, and a Pathologist Assistant
• Patient population: Primarily adults, though specimens will include all ages (e.g., tonsillectomies)
Facility Details:
• EMR: EPIC
• Annual case volume: 13,000–15,000
• Typically two pathologists on service (at least one on-site; locum must be on-site)
Requirements:
• AP/CP Board Certified (required)
• Active state medical license (required)
• DEA: Not required
• Cytology: Some Non-GYN cytology sign-out; board verification preferred but not required
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days (next meeting June 19)
Travel:
All travel is billable.
