New Opportunity Located in Northern CA with Aya Locums: Critical Care Peds NP

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner for a 6-month assignment in northern California. This role supports a high-acuity pediatric cardiac ICU and requires flexibility with nights, weekends, and holidays.

Assignment Details
• Specialty: Pediatric Critical Care NP (PCICU)
• Start Date: February 2026
• Contract Length: 6 months, option to extend
• Shift Details: Variable 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Schedule: Minimum 4 shifts per month; must be available for at least 50% nights or weekends
• Call: Night and weekend call possible, not guaranteed

Work Details
• Patients per Day: 17–18
• Unit Type: Pediatric Cardiac ICU (inpatient)
• Annual Volume: ~350 surgical cases
• Case Mix: High-acuity surgical patients including heart failure, ventilated patients, ECMO, pre/post-op cardiac and transplant patients, cardiac catheterization
• EMR: Epic
• Procedures: IVs and arterial lines; intubation and central lines as needed

Requirements
• Board Certification: CPNP-AC required
• License: Active California NP license required
• DEA: Required (CA, Schedule II)
• Certifications: BLS, PALS
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of true PCICU experience (no stepdown or non-surgical-only backgrounds)
• Preferred Experience: ECMO and heart failure management
