Locums Cardiac Surgeon Needed in Coon Rapids, MN

Job description

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00a–5:00p
• Call: 1 in 3 rotation
• Call weeks include day shift, overnight (5:00p–7:00a), and 24-hour weekend call
• Trauma Level: Level II
• Start: ASAP (Emergency temps available for clean files; complete file required)
• Ideal start date: January 1 (committee meeting January 5, 2026)
• License: Minnesota license or IMLC required

Case Mix & Volume
• Predominantly routine cases (CABGs, valves, etc.)
• CABGs/Valves: ~250 annually
• TAVR: ~200 standbys
• Clips: ~100 standbys
• Lead extractions: ~35
• No Electrophysiology cases
• Oncology lung cases referred out
• Procedures Include: Aortic aneurysm and dissection repair, Atrial fibrillation surgery, Cardiac valve repair and replacement, Carotid endarterectomy, Congenital heart surgery, Coronary artery bypass surgery, Esophageal surgery (minimally invasive), Heart failure surgery and LVAD, Minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery. Pacemaker procedures, Thoracoscopic surgery, TAVR / Structural Heart
