Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiovascular

Job description

Facility is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant (PA), to join their Cardiovascular Surgery team at Lansing, MI. The role involves 4-day, 10-hour shifts, with 1 in 4 weeks on call and 1 weekend per month. The position is available starting February, due to a recent APP resignation.
Our CV team is cardiac and vascular surgeons. The APP team rounds and supports both. This rounder position would not have any OR responsibilities.

Below is a breakdown of what our patients typically look like.

These are very rough estimates:

CVICU ~ 2-3 minimum/day, can be as many as 8

CVSU ~ 2-5/day, but also involves discharges

Vascular ~ 4-10 between ICU and the floors, most of these we aren't primary on and most are on the floor

Patient list on the weekends will be 15-30. Weekends will be 1 every 4, you are on your own on the weekend

Average Number of Patients per Day: 15 patients per day on average (weekends tend to be higher)
