Job description

A well-established hospital system is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage across multiple sites due to coverage gaps.

This is a weekday onsite role with low-volume call coverage and access to modern, dedicated IR suites.

Position Highlights

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Call: Evening and weekend call (low volume)

Coverage Type: Onsite daytime coverage at one location; call coverage for separate facilities

Assignment Length: Ongoing for gap coverage

Patient Population: Adult

Practice Setting: Hospital-based

Trauma Level: Not high-volume trauma

EMR: EPIC

PACS: Change/McKesson

Dedicated IR suites with updated technology. Each site is supported by radiology managers, technologists, and nursing staff.

Case Mix & Procedures

Full-spectrum Interventional Radiology including, but not limited to:

Angiography (needle/catheter)

Percutaneous catheter placement

Transluminal peripheral vascular therapeutic intervention

Percutaneous biopsy

Myelography

Arthrography

Transjugular liver biopsy

Fallopian tuboplasty

TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portocaval Shunt)

Cerebrovascular & neurointervention

Vertebroplasty & kyphoplasty

Carotid stenting

Image-guided paracentesis & thoracentesis

Image-guided biopsies & drain placement

Central venous catheter placement

Ultrasound-guided core & FNA biopsy

Image-guided lumbar puncture

Chest tube placement

Joint/collection aspirations

CT/US/Fluoro-guided joint injections & arthrograms

CT-guided biopsy (including marrow)

Diagnostic modalities include CT, MR, PET, and Ultrasound.

No supervision of other healthcare providers required.

Requirements

Board Certification: Not required (must be within 2 years of residency if not BC)

License: Willing to license; MO & KS preferred (IMLC highly desired)

Certifications: None specified

Privileging Timeline: TBD

Full privileges: Approximately 90 days after completed paperwork

Temporary privileges available (minimum one week preferred)
