Job Description – Interventional Radiologist (Locum Tenens)
Position Type: Locum Tenens (1099)

Compensation
• Pay Range: $520–$545/hour
• Higher call rates available

Schedule & Coverage
• Day Coverage: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Shift Type: Day shift with evening and weekend call required
• Call Coverage: Low volume; covers multiple nearby hospital locations
• Coverage Model: Scheduled daytime coverage plus on-call responsibilities
• Flexibility: Providers may submit availability for select weeks or extended blocks

Practice Details
• Hospital-based Interventional Radiology practice
• Dedicated, modern IR suites
• Not a high-volume trauma environment
• No supervision of other providers required
• Diagnostic modality exposure includes CT, MR, PET, and Ultrasound

Support & Resources
• Strong clinical support including physicians and APPs
• Dedicated radiology managers, technologists, and nursing staff at each site

Procedures & Privileges
Core Procedures Include:
• Angiography (needle/catheter)
• Percutaneous catheter placement
• Peripheral vascular interventions
• Image-guided biopsies
• Myelography & arthrography
• Transjugular liver biopsy & TIPS
• Neurointerventional procedures
• Vertebroplasty & kyphoplasty
• Carotid stenting
• Paracentesis & thoracentesis
• Central venous catheter placement
• Drain and chest tube placement
Additional Privileges Include:
• Ultrasound-guided biopsies (core & FNA)
• CT/US/Fluoro-guided joint injections and arthrograms
• Lumbar punctures
• Aspirations (joint/collections)
• CT-guided biopsies, including marrow

Systems
• EMR: Epic
• PACS: Change / McKesson

Licensing & Credentialing
• Board Certification: Not required (within 2 years of residency acceptable)
• Licensure: Kansas and Missouri license required or ability to obtain via IMLC
• Privileging:
○ Temporary privileges may be available for urgent coverage
○ Full privileging typically completed within ~90 days

• $545/hour
