Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity – VA
Start: 05/25/2026
Duration: Ongoing through end of 2026
Coverage: 1–2 weeks per month (Monday–Monday)
Clinic + Call (24-hour call is optional and low volume)

Schedule Details:
• Clinic typically 2–3 days per week (9:00am–3:00pm; clinic open 8:00am–4:30pm)
• Surgery days built into weekly schedule
• Hospital rounding between 7:00am–8:00am
• 24-hour call coverage (minimal call backs; APP support overnight and weekends)

Work Details:
• Perform a broad range of cardiothoracic procedures including CABG, aortic surgery, valvular repair/replacement, atrial fibrillation management, TAVR, and endovascular aneurysm repair
• Provide pre- and post-operative care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
• APP-heavy support model in both clinic and hospital
• Post-op clinic visits primarily; APPs complete initial workups
• EMR: Epic

Requirements:
• MD or DO from accredited institution
• Completion of general surgery residency plus cardiothoracic surgery residency (or integrated program)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible – American Board of Thoracic Surgery
• Active, unrestricted VA license (or eligible)
• Current DEA
• Proficiency in full spectrum of cardiothoracic procedures
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills
