Job description

Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon needed for clinic, rounding, and 24‑hour call coverage. One to two weeks per month (Mon–Mon) with year‑round continuity. Adult surgical program with full CT surgery spectrum including CABG, valves, aortic surgery, AFib procedures, TAVR, and more. Clinic 2–3 days per week with strong APP support.

HIGHLIGHTS
Coverage 1–2 weeks per month (Mon–Mon)
24‑hour call required (call volume low)
Clinic 2–3 days per week, remainder are surgery/rounding days
Rounding each morning 7a–8a with APP support
No scheduled surgeries currently booked but full surgical capability

Adult II/III trauma setting

1099 Locum Tenens
Must hold active VA license at time of presentation
Must obtain AHA certifications
Year‑round need: May 2026 through end of year
SCHEDULE
Start Date: 5/25/2026
Coverage: Scheduled + On Call Optional
Clinic Hours: 9a–3p (varies daily)
Shift Type: Day
Hours: 7a–3p or similar 8‑hour day
Call:
24‑hour call included
Call is “not often” but must be available
APP support always on site or on call
Weekly structure:
2–3 clinic days per week
Remaining days: rounding + consult‑based OR availability
CASE MIX
Full spectrum adult cardiothoracic surgery:
Coronary artery bypass
Aortic surgery
Valvular repair/replacement
Atrial fibrillation surgery / LAA management
TAVR
Endovascular aneurysm repair
Adult congenital cardiac disease
Pre‑ and post‑operative management
Mostly post‑op clinic visits; APPs do majority of initial workup
Multidisciplinary team‑based care model

• Clinic, rounding, and 24‑hour call coverage
• Strong APP support.
• One to two weeks per month
