Cardiothoracic APP needed in Indiana

Job description

I have a great Cardiothoracic Surgery NP/PA opportunity beginning March 16, 2026, offering a true 7‑on/7‑off schedule, full inpatient involvement, and hands‑on OR responsibilities—including EVH.
Position Details
Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery – NP or PA
Start Date: March 16, 2026
Contract Length: Ongoing
Schedule:

Mon–Thu: 7:00am–4:30pm onsite + on‑call starting at 4:30pm

Must attend CV Surgery daily team meeting at 7:00am
Call can be taken from the hotel; must be able to return for call‑backs


Fri: 7:00am–5:00pm onsite + call starting at 5:00pm
Sat–Sun: 24‑hour call with approx. 4 hours onsite daily (rounding begins at 6:00am)
Preferred: 7‑on/7‑off rotation, Monday–Sunday
Call: Required

Clinical Responsibilities

Daily rounding on all inpatients (ICU & step‑down)
New consults and patient discharges
OR responsibilities including:

Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) – Hemapro 2 system
Training new APPs on EVH
Occasional open vein harvest for fem‑pop cases (bridging technique)
First assist on selected cases once familiar with surgeon preferences
OR call for emergencies during on‑call weekends

Trauma Level: II
Inpatient Census: 8–10 patients/day
EMR: Cerner
Support Staff: N/A (APP functions independently within the team)
Coverage Need: Ongoing

Requirements

Board‑certified NP or PA
Indiana license (required)
DEA required
Certifications: ACLS & BLS
Minimum Experience: Cardiothoracic Surgery experience required; EVH proficiency required
Credentialing: 10–30 days with a clean background
