Cardiothoracic Surgery NP/PA – Nights | California

Job description

This locum tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery PA opportunity offers dedicated night coverage in a hospital setting with no OR responsibilities. Ideal for a PA with cardiothoracic or strong surgical experience who is comfortable working independently overnight.

Schedule

Minimum 2 night shifts per week

6:00pm–6:30am

No call

No OR coverage

Clinical Details

Adult population only

15–25 patients per shift (varies)

Sole PA on site overnight

Support from CTS surgery team

Epic EMR

Scope of Work

Coverage across ICU, ER, telemetry, med-surg, and outpatient areas as needed

Standardized CTS procedures

Must be comfortable with wound vac management, pacing wire removal, and similar post-op care

Requirements

Board Certified PA

Active California license

DEA required

BLS and ACLS required

Minimum 1–2 years of surgical experience (cardiothoracic preferred)

This is a strong fit for a surgically trained PA seeking consistent night coverage in a high-acuity cardiac setting with independent responsibility.
