Interventional Radiology Locum Tenens – Southern California
Job description
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity at a hospital-based practice in Southern California. This is a high-volume, procedure-focused role with strong APP support and no call responsibilities.
Local candidates preferred. Flexibility with scheduling is key.
Position Details:
Start Date: April 5, 2026
Schedule: Weekday and weekend coverage needed
Shifts: 8+ hour shifts (may range from 8–12 hours depending on case load)
Call: None
Coverage Needed: 10–12 shifts per month (full-time coverage model)
Practice Setting:
Hospital-based Interventional Radiology
EMR: Epic
Support: 3 dedicated Interventional Radiology NPs
Procedures Include:
Angiography: Mesenteric, pulmonary, renal, arterial runoff
Venous & arterial stenting
Renal/Iliac stents
Thrombolysis
Embolization: GI, tumor, uterine, splenic, chemo (seeded beds)
CT-guided radiofrequency ablations
TIPS (TUPS)
Dialysis fistula interventions
Central venous lines (subclavian/jugular)
Port placements
Percutaneous drainage
Image-guided biopsies (excluding CNS and spine – handled by neurointerventional team)
Biliary interventions
Requirements:
Active California medical license (required)
Comfortable with broad-spectrum IR procedures
Ability to adapt to variable daily procedural volumes
